The experience of love and connection are beautiful aspects of being alive. We are constantly engaged in a delicate dance between our ever evolving wants and desires, while sustaining our connection to others. This requires understanding of our own changing needs, the ability to communicate those needs in our intimate relationships, while also harmonizing and supporting our partners in their process. Despite our best intentions, sometimes our relational dynamics can spin out of control and leave us feeling isolated and disconnected from the ones closest to us. And, at times, it is just a feeling of wanting something more from life and our intimate relationship than what seems feasible.

I am a couples and relationship expert. My hope is to support couples caught in some dysfunctional dynamics and guide them towards creating a more satisfying life, a life that feels wholesome both internally and externally. I work with couples on effective communication, infidelity, issues pertaining to sex, open relationships, conscious separation and more.

My therapy approach is couple centered. I draw from different modalities based on the couples needs and where they are in their relational process. I bring a nonbiased and non-judgmental approach to my work. I take the time to establish a strong therapeutic alliance with each partner, so their most tender and repressed parts feel safe to express themselves.

Background

I was born and raised in South Asia and immigrated to the US as an adult. This gives me an outsider perspective and a natural ability to look at life experiences from diverse cultural perspectives. I have two children who bring a lot of joy to my life. Parenting them has opened my heart in ways I could not imagine. They continue to amaze me and inspire me to live life with an open heart.

Training & Education

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I hold a Master’s degree in Integral Counseling Psychology from CIIS university in San Francisco. The integrative approach grants me understanding and access to diverse modalities. I have additional trainings in the following modalities which I draw upon in my work: Hakomi (Essential skills in Somatic Psychotherapy), Gestalt, Somatosensory approach to heal trauma and The Tamura Method (use of touch in psychotherapy).
