I work with couples who are struggling to change dynamics and patterns that are no longer serving them. When two people come together, our histories, cultures, and values also come together. Navigating this integration, or the relationship ruptures that can result from this integration, without the use of appropriate communication and secure relating can be quite challenging. If you are feeling stuck in your relationship and not sure how to move forward, it’s never too early or late to reshape your dynamic.

I help couples deepen communication and understanding of one another in order to traverse difficult issues. I also help couples organize issues to better understand how they were created and how to deal with them, and I help to frame problems in a way that facilitates growth and movement, not stagnation.

My approach to this work is largely relational, and I tend to pull from various modalities depending on what the couple responds well to and what the issue is they are trying to navigate. What makes my work unique is that while I see myself as a collaborator with the couple, I’m not afraid to have the hard conversations, or to challenge individuals to show up in different ways for one another.

Background

I have always been interested in people and understanding them on a very deep level. As someone who has had to navigate multiple cultures and worldviews from birth, never feeling a sense of belonging to one place or group, I have developed a unique ability to hold multiple realities at once, a skill which supports my work with couples especially. I especially enjoy working with couples bridging cultural divides for this reason.

Training & Education

I am a licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, and I hold a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley.

I have a background as a child and family therapist, so navigating how family and children impact relationships is a specialty of mine, and helping couples to navigate these destabilizing life changes is something I have experience in. I also have experience in trauma and crisis work, and incorporate this training into my work with couples when navigating trauma that impacts a couple’s ability to relate to one another.

In my free time

In my free time, I like to surround myself with community, food and dancing. Or you can find me in a museum or movie theater :)
