Lisa Anderson, Senior LMFT

Do you ever feel like you’re doing the best you can in life, yet feel like you still need to try harder, and do better? That is a dialectical dilemma we all face. Balancing acceptance of exactly where we currently are, with the drive to do even better. Happiness comes from this place, of accepting who we are, without judgment, while gently pushing ourselves to be even better.

The ultimate goal of therapy is to build a life worth living. I have been licensed for over 20 years. I’m an intensively trained Dialectical Behavioral Therapist (DBT) and work with clients every day to tackle the issues of Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Emotion Regulation. I also utilize the daily practice of mindfulness to help you reach true contentment in life.

I have also received training in The Gottman Method of couples therapy, which works on building love maps and assessing communication styles to improve connectedness and admiration. My training in CBT approaches additionally helps address the depression and anxiety we all can face during life’s journey. My philosophy is that everyone has, within themselves, the happy, effective person they want to be. It is finding and utilizing new skills to access this happiness that is key.

Whether you want to improve your current relationship, reduce your own depression or anxiety, or just find more peace and contentment in your personal life, now is a great time to begin this journey.
