“We are not capable of healing in isolation. We need other people. We are hurt in relationship and we heal in relationship. Our brain and nervous system are not isolated, but interconnected and social. At our core, we are social beings who regulate through connection with others. Being comfortable in your own skin and having tools that help you relax is a really big deal, but learning how to feel safe with others is revolutionary.” -Dr. Diane Poole Heller

Relationships are core to our identity and play a fundamental role in the quality of our life, shaping who we are, and how we perceive ourselves. Relationships areendowed with our heart’s deepest longings: to be seen, loved and accepted as we are, to find healing and wholeness, and to reach our greatest potential. It is no wonder that relational conflicts can, at times, feel so gut-wrenching, heartbreaking, and terrible.

My Approach

In our sessions, we will work together to identify and break free from negative patterns and cycles that may no longer be serving you. I believe that every couple is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Using an emotionally focused and attachment-based approach, I tailor my methods to your specific needs and circumstances. That may mean improving communication, reigniting your love, or navigating the complexities of separation and co-parenting. By integrating somatic techniques, we can also address the mind-body connection and promote healing at a deeper level.

I Specialize in These Areas:

  • Couples therapy for all stages of a relationship
  • Emotionally focused and attachment-based approach
  • Psychobiological approach to understanding and healing relationship dynamics
  • Somatic techniques for holistic healing and growth
  • Communication improvement and conflict resolution
  • Reconnecting and falling in love again
  • Separation and co-parenting support
  • Healing from past traumas and hurts

Background

I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist, wife, and mother. Prior to joining The Couples Center, I worked at Pathways Home Health & Hospice as a bereavement therapist, counseling individuals, children, couples, and families, grieving the death of a loved one. In the past I’ve held careers in law and education.
