I’m excited to invite you to join my upcoming Couples Therapy Experiential Practice Group, an in-person training and growth experience designed specifically for therapists who want to deepen their understanding of couples’ dynamics and feel more confident facilitating transformative sessions.
This group blends somatic awareness, mindfulness, and experiential learning to help you grow both as a clinician and as a human being. My intention is to create a rich, deep, and empowering space where you can stretch, take risks, and expand your comfort zone while strengthening your presence in the therapist’s seat.
What We’ll Explore Together
Skills Practice
- Observation and tracking of couples’ patterns
- Developing empathy and attunement in complex cases
- Mindfulness and experiential exercises
- Somatic interventions that bring insight into the body
Theory & Application
- Deepening understanding of attachment (EFT & PACT)
- Working with parts (IFS framework)
- Accessing and integrating child states
Working with Complex Cases
- Healing from affairs and breaches of trust
- Navigating trauma within and outside the relationship
- Parenthood, blame, shame, and sexuality
Therapist Self-Work
- Countertransference and projection
- Somatic awareness and intuition
- Building internal resources to stay grounded and open
Two Dimensions of the Work
The Couple’s World
We’ll dive into the couple’s system – their dynamics, wounds, and attachment needs – while exploring tools to help them rebuild collaboration and connection.
The Therapist’s Inner World
We’ll also explore how each case impacts you personally, your countertransference, blind spots, and internal responses – and how to use these experiences to grow as a practitioner.
Who This Group Is For
This group is for Associates and LMFTs who:
- See at least three couples in their practice
- Want to deepen their skill and confidence with couples work
- Are curious, courageous, and willing to engage in self-reflection
- Desire a supportive, intimate community for ongoing growth
Group Details
Start Date: Tuesday, November 4th
Schedule: Every other Tuesday | Nov 4, 18; Dec 2, 16; Jan 13, 27; Feb 10, 24 (ongoing)
Time: 9:45 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: In-person, El Cerrito
Group Size: 6 therapists maximum
Commitment: Minimum 8 meetings (option to continue)
Fee: $100–$120 per session (depending on group size)

About Liron Cohen
I’m the co-founder of The Couples Center and Love Made Simple, where I specialize in somatic, integrative couples work. My approach blends EFT, PACT, IFS, Hakomi, shamanic hypnotherapy, archetypal psychology, and mindfulness to support deep transformation in relationships.
I’ve taught therapists and couples in Thailand and Israel, and I lead women’s empowerment circles and ceremonies for healing and life transitions.
Outside of my work, I’m a mom to two amazing boys, an aspiring guitarist, and a lover of ceramics and Moroccan cooking. My husband, Gal Szekely, and I have been navigating and celebrating our own relationship for over 22 years – the foundation for everything I teach.
