Shana is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is especially passionate about helping couples be happier. She helps couples overcome stressful situations – from communication problems, affair recovery, stepfamily issues, separations, and everything in between. Her approach incorporates elements of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Somatic Psychology, and mindfulness strategies she’s learned in over twenty years of study. In other words, she uses evidence based methods shown to make a difference.
Personally, Shana started her adult life somewhat pessimistic about true intimacy, having done couple’s work herself, she is now ridiculously happy in her marriage while simultaneously being in awe of it’s complexity. Every day she is grateful for the crazy beautiful love in her marriage and how a consistent loving connection makes it easier to handle the daily issues of parenting, a stepfamily, in-laws, and careers. She originally became interested in psychotherapy through her love of the arts, specifically dance. Her BA is in InterArts and Anthropology, and her MA is in Somatic Counseling Psychology from Naropa University.
